Ramin Shirani - CEO, Co-Founder

Mr. Ramin Shirani serves as our Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for formulating our strategic vision, ensuring execution to our business plans, and creating shareholder value.

Prior to Ethernovia, Ramin Shirani co-founded Aquantia Corp, which went IPO on NYSE in November 2017, and served as the Senior Vice President of Engineering and the founding board member. In Aquantia, Ramin helped form the business case and the team toward Ethernet IC product development for data centers, enterprises, and clients in the area of Multi-Gig and 10G Ethernet. He is the co-inventor of 2.5G, 5G Ethernet technology and presented the baseline technology to IEEE on May 2015 toward a formal IEEE 802.3bz standard. Prior to founding Aquantia, Mr. Shirani served as general manager of Transceiver group of the Micro-electronic division of Lucent Technologies from1999 to 2001. In 1996, Mr. Shirani co-founded Enable Semiconductor, with a focus on Ethernet IC product development for 100Base-TX and 1000Base-T. Enable was acquired by Lucent Technologies in March 1999. Prior to Enable semiconductor, Mr. Shirani spent 9 years in the LAN division of National Semiconductor focused on developing many of the early generations of Ethernet products including 10M, and 100M Ethernet. Mr. Shirani is the inventor of Auto-negotiation technology which is used in billions of Ethernet devices since 1993. Mr. Shirani holds 47 patents, and received his M.S. and B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California.
Roy Myers – SVP Engineering, Co-Founder

Mr. Roy Myers is our Senior Vice President of Engineering. In this role, Roy is responsible for leading a very talented team of IC, system, and firmware/software developers focused on highly integrated, advanced networking technology.

Roy has 30 years of experience in the semiconductor industry focused on networking products. Prior to co-founding Ethernovia, he was Chief Architect at Aquantia Corp (AQ:NYSE, acquired by Marvell in 2019) developing a series of 10GBase-T and Multi-Gig MAC/PHY products to serve client, enterprise, and data center markets. Prior to Aquantia, he co-founded TeraBlaze Inc, which was later acquired by Agere Systems, where he was Director of Engineering developing highly scalable network fabrics and layer 2/3 Gigabit Ethernet IC solutions. Previously, Roy was part of the founding team of the network division of Enable Semiconductor, later acquired by Lucent Technologies, where he was a mixed-signal designer developing 10/100Mb transceivers. Roy started his career at National Semiconductor LAN Division designing mixed-signal Ethernet IC products.

Mr. Myers holds 14 patents in communication technology and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1990 and 1991, respectively.
Hossein Sederat – CTO, Co-Founder

Dr. Hossein Sedarat serves as our Chief Technology Officer. He works closely with the engineering team defining and architecting the current and future products.

Dr. Sedarat has more than 25 years of experience in software and semiconductor industries with a primary focus on wireline communication systems. Prior to co-founding Ethernovia, Dr. Sedarat was the VP of DSP, Software and QA at Aquantia Corp (AQ:NYSE, acquired by Marvell in 2019) directing a large multi-national team developing a series of high speed Ethernet transceiver and controller products targetting client, enterprise, and data center markets. He was responsible for various aspects of the development and production from conception to customer interactions. Prior to Aquantia, he was part of a core engineering team at 2Wire Inc. architecting generations of DSL and home-networking products. In addition to digital communication systems, Dr. Sedarat has had contributions to a wide range of fields including artificial intelligence, cryptography, image processing, etc.
Dr. Sedarat is a prolific author and inventor with numerous contribution to Standard bodies (IEEE, ITU, ANSI, etc.) and more than 60 patents. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
Daren Engelkemier – VP Silicon Engineering, Co-Founder

Mr. Darren Engelkemier serves as our Vice President of Silicon Engineering and is responsible for semiconductor strategy and engineering execution.

Darren has over 20 years of leading silicon innovation. Prior to co-founding Ethernovia, he was Vice President of Digital Engineering at Aquantia Corp (AQ: NYSE, acquired by Marvell in 2019) where he was responsible for global semiconductor development. At Aquantia, he led the worlds' first integrated 10G Ethernet MAC/PHY chips with partner Intel which created the revenue stream for an eventual IPO. Prior to Aquantia, Darren led wifi chips at Qualcomm, video processing chips at Silicon Image, and networking chips at Ciena. Darren was responsible for Ciena's worldwide ASIC and FPGA development via Ciena's acquisition of start-up Lightera Networks where Darren was the first engineer.

Mr. Engelkemier is co-author of 5 patents. He holds both a Masters in Electrical Engineering and Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. 
Christopher Mash – VP Business Development

Mr Christopher Mash is our Vice President of Business Development and is responsible for Ethernovia’s customer engagements, marketing activities and product definition.

Christopher has 25 years of Ethernet experience across Enterprise, Carrier, Industrial and Consumer segments. Prior to joining Ethernovia, Mr Mash was the Senior Director of Automotive Applications, Product Definition and Architecture at Marvell Semiconductor. He was responsible for the global automotive application engineering and production definition teams creating the feature definition and architecture of Marvell’s Automotive Ethernet T1 PHY and switch products. Over this 14 year period Mr Mash has collaborated with all worldwide automotive OEM’s and Tier 1’s facilitating next generation architectures and driving the adoption of Ethernet in the automotive space. He has been active within the IEEE802.3bp 1000BASE-T1 task force, IEEE802.3bw 100BASE-T1 task force, IEEE802.3ch task force, IEEE802.1 AVB/TSN groups and AVNU and recently led the 2019 IEEE Call for Interest for Beyond 10Gbps Automotive Ethernet which successfully led to the creation of the IEEE 802.3cy Greater than 10Gb/s Electrical Automotive Ethernet Task Force.

Mr. Mash holds a BEng Honours degree in Electronic Engineering from Southampton University, is a registered Chartered Engineer with the Institution of Engineering and Technology and is co-author of 8 patents. 
Klaas Bult – VP Data Acquisition

Dr. Klaas Bult is General Manager Netherlands and Vice President Data Acquisition Engineering at Ethernovia where he leads low power analog data converter design.

Previously, Dr. Bult started the Analog Design Group at Broadcom and built it up over a 22 year period culminating in his role as Vice President and CTO Central Engineering. In addition, Klaas serves as a Part-time Professor at Technische Universiteit Delft and has served on the faculty at UCLA and Twente University. Dr. Bult started his professional career as a Research Scientis at Philips Research Labs .

Dr. Bult earned his M.Sc. and Ph.D. from Twente University. He is author of more than 65 international publications and holds more than 65 issued U.S. patents. He is a world-renowned leader in mixed-signal design, distinguished lecturer, Broadcom Fellow, IEEE Fellow and multi-award winner at ISSCC. In 2020, Dr. Bult was awarded the IEEE Donald O. Pederson Award in Solid-State Circuits “For leadership in embedded analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits".
