DesignCon 2025 brought together experts to discuss the latest advancements in connectivity and high-speed interfaces, with a major focus on the rapidly evolving automotive sector.
Key sessions examined challenges related to smarter, connected, and autonomous vehicles.

One tutorial explored power-efficient PCB design strategies crucial for managing the complexity of automotive electronics. Cybersecurity frameworks and standardization efforts for software-defined vehicles, addressing threats and safety in autonomous systems was also a topic covered in one of the sessions. A paper highlighted the importance of Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) in securing sensitive data and meeting automotive safety standards. An interesting panel discussion focused on the challenges of testing automotive systems and ensuring they meet rigorous standards.
Outside of automotive, a keynote highlighted the future of AI tools and their cross-industry impact. Another keynote covered a project on deploying low Earth orbit satellites to enhance connectivity in remote areas. Discussions on high-speed serial links reaching 224/448 Gbps underscored their importance for future automotive and data-driven applications. One presentation explored low-latency equalization solutions for high-speed transceivers.
On the expo floor, industry leaders showcased cutting-edge technologies, including advanced PCB designs, connectors, and next-generation testing solutions. Overall, DesignCon 2025 effectively highlighted key innovations shaping the future of connectivity in automotive and other sectors.
