Ramin Shirani
Mr. Ramin Shirani serves as our Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for formulating our strategic vision, ensuring execution to our business plans, and creating shareholder value.
Prior to Ethernovia, Ramin Shirani co-founded Aquantia Corp, which went IPO on NYSE in November 2017, and served as the Senior Vice President of Engineering and the founding board member. In Aquantia, Ramin helped form the business case and the team toward Ethernet IC product development for data centers, enterprises, and clients in the area of Multi-Gig and 10G Ethernet. He is the co-inventor of 2.5G, 5G Ethernet technology and presented the baseline technology to IEEE on May 2015 toward a formal IEEE 802.3bz standard. Prior to founding Aquantia, Mr. Shirani served as general manager of Transceiver group of the Micro-electronic division of Lucent Technologies from 1999 to 2001. In 1996, Mr. Shirani co-founded Enable Semiconductor, with a focus on Ethernet IC product development for 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T. Enable was acquired by Lucent Technologies in March 1999. Prior to Enable Semiconductor, Mr. Shirani spent 9 years in the LAN division of National Semiconductor focused on developing many of the early generations of Ethernet products including 10M, and 100M Ethernet.
Mr. Shirani is the inventor of Auto-negotiation technology which is used in billions of Ethernet devices since 1993. Mr. Shirani holds 47 patents and received his M.S. and B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California.
